Spleen

About - Spleen

1857. While the industrial revolution is growing throughout Europe, France is muzzled by its government, still under the influence of a Church that rejects any form of freedom of expression. In this hostile climate, Charles Baudelaire completes the writing of his most important collection of poems, ‘Les Fleurs du Mal’, while confronting the illness of one of his muses, Sarah, and the difficult character of his publisher, Auguste. With the publication of the collection fast approaching, Baudelaire will soon find himself in the crosshairs of the magistrate Pinard, who judges the subversion of his poems.

I started my degree in cinema in 2011. I first did a first year in a dual program in cinema and literature, before doing a second and third year focused on cinema and audiovisual. I then started a Master's thesis under the supervision of Chantal Duchet, around the question of the nature of French-speaking web-fiction productions in 2014.
