Once upon a time, there was a village that had fallen into the oblivion of history, that of the allied French sector of West Berlin. I grew up in this community of military and civilian expatriates during the Cold War. Today, I'm returning to Berlin in search of traces of that bygone life. My subjective memories and official history intertwine in this city under constant reconstruction.
