L'Image Mouvementée

About - L'Image Mouvementée

In the 1950s and 1960s, Alexandre Calder, Victor Vasarely and Jean Tinguely brought success to kinetic art, a movement that had its origins in the early 20th century and explored the relationships between movement and light in painting and sculpture, abolishing the distinction between the two, in a spectacular and playful spirit. The film traces the history of this movement by giving voice to its pioneers (François Morellet, Agam, Julio Le Parc), its heirs (Ann Veronika Janssens, Philippe Decrauzat) and, thanks to rich archives, to those who have passed away (Soto, Nicolas Schöffer, Tinguely).
