A historical testimony listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by countless myths, the Bayeux Tapestry, 68 meters long, is a European cultural asset of the first order. Like a medieval comic strip, the embroidered tapestry tells the story of the conquest of England by the Normans in 1066. It carefully details, in 58 paintings, each stage of William's epic journey as he set out to conquer the English crown promised to him and usurped by the traitor Harold.
Is this comic strip faithful to historical events or is it one of the very first manifestations of political propaganda?
From the entourage of William the Conqueror to that of Hitler, the film "THE BAYEUX TAPESTRY: THE QUEST FOR ORIGINS" tells the eventful story of this work.
