Alice and Barbara live with their mother in a village in the Ardèche. Barbara is 15 and starting high school. Alice is 18 and no longer goes to school. She wants to get her driving license and find a job. Over the years, Alice watches her little sister grow up and gradually move away from home. But the eldest is still unable to take flight. Camille Holtz Camille Holtz was born in Obernai in 1989. She graduated from Arts Décoratifs de Paris in Photo-Video with honors in 2014. In 2016, she joined the Master 2 in Documentary Cinema at Lussas in Ardèche. Camille Holtz creates intimate portraits built over the long term, immersed with the people she photographs or films in their environment. She stages observed situations and overheard or imagined dialogues. Her first film, “L'inutile” (2014), was shot over several months in Alsace, in the author's native village. It was selected for the FID Marseille, the États généraux du film documentaire de Lussas, the Filmer le travail festival in Poitiers and the Mois du film documentaire. Camille Holtz has just completed her first feature-length documentary, “Alice+Barbara” (2021), shot in Vesseaux, Ardèche, between 2016 and 2020.
