In 1924, the Ungemach Garden City was inaugurated in Strasbourg, intended for couples of "healthy and fertile stock". Once selected, they were required to found large families, otherwise the lease was terminated.
This experiment, which received the approval of political and scientific authorities and fascinated many countries, would last more than 60 years.
The film tells the daily life of this eugenic city and places it in the history of this pseudo-scientific concept, from its origins to its contemporary resurgences.
