A village bistro and a mecca of punk culture!
In Val d’Ajol, a small village in the south of the Vosges, a bistro has existed for over a century, successively run by five generations of the same family. At the back of the courtyard, a former cinema has been transformed into a concert hall where many punk rock bands from the French scene have performed. Chez Narcisse has become a place of alternative culture in rural areas.
Immersed in the place, the film meets the regulars, the public, the passing musicians (Les Sheriff, No one is innocent, Le Bal des Enragés, etc.), the volunteers and a group of researchers who evoke the history and spirit of the place, between the claim of independence and the search for pleasure. A space of resistance in which people enjoy creating together and where Do It Yourself takes on its full meaning.
