SCAM Star 2020
A border materialized by 4056 boundary stones, placed on our territory after the defeat of 1870. They mark the limit of the lost provinces of Alsace-Lorraine.
Today, these boundary stones form an internal scar, a no man's land of memory that I survey. What do they tell me about my history? About Franco-German neighborly relations? About our common horizon, Europe?
Follow the boundary markers on the Vosges ridge and then in the Lorraine basin, meeting the landscapes and the inhabitants. Build a thought path, to offer visibility and status to this forgotten border, to make it a monument.
