About - Réfractaires
The story of the Réfractaires is the little-known counterpart to that of the “Malgré-nous”, these young Alsatians and Mosellans who were forcibly incorporated into the Wehrmacht. The Réfractaires chose to say no. They refused, at the risk of their lives and those of their families, to wear the German uniform, preferring to flee and join the resistance. This film bears witness to the choice of these men and traces their journey.
