About - Nouveau départ
Patrice, 50, is Togolese. During a trip to France, a serious heart condition forced him to stay there to follow a treatment on which his life depended. In total destitution, he had to leave his wife, his 4 children, and a good situation in the country. From precarious jobs to administrative procedures, he chose to overcome this tragedy and fight, by creating his company importing organic exotic fruits. The film tells the story of the fight of this man who, despite fragile health, an unstable situation and an extremely complex project, maintains courage and great dignity.
Pierre Toussaint
Pierre Toussaint is the author of several documentaries on work and exclusion: "Jardins de passage", "Nouveau départ", "Rendez-vous par temps de crise" and "L’arbre d’en face", made in Burkina Faso.
He is also a lecturer at the University of Strasbourg.
