A working-class city on the left bank of Rouen is doomed to destruction and on the verge of disappearing. An architectural utopia of the 1950s, it combines a set of paradoxes, both a "radiant city" and a surveillance panopticon, where everyone is seen and sees everyone. The tenants live, not without ambivalence, the last days of this place, where collective rhymes with prison.
On the eve of the move, the film tells of the anguish of anonymity and the dreams of a community life of the inhabitants of this magnetically ugly building.
Nicolas Bruneau
After a master's degree in cinema obtained at the University of Caen and several experiences in assistant positions, Nicolas Bruneau made his first documentary "Les rouges" in 2016.
"An experience marked my life. I grew up in Africa for 14 years. This experience forged my desire to capture the world in which I live and the people who make it up. My spirit of independence and initiative was built during this time at the same time as my taste for the media, through stories and images."
