Moi qui duperais le bon dieu

About - Moi qui duperais le bon dieu

The Marquis de Sade is once again behind bars.
Walled up alive, plunged into frustration and abstinence, deprived of air and freedom, vertigo seizes him, his reason capsizes.
So as not to go mad, he reads, studies, writes, plays, stories and especially letters to his wife, the Marquise de Sade, his only link with the world of the living.

The film is constructed like the fiction of a play in the early stages of its creation: tableaux vivants, improvisations, various experiments or lessons in voicing this volcanic correspondence break into a scene where the deregulation of the senses is jubilant like the entertainments of childhood.

In the film, everything contributes to embodying this lightning maxim of the writer, "There are no ideas without bodies, nor bodies without ideas"!

Maria Pinto

"Passionate about art and literature, my academic career lies between these two poles, since I was a student at the University of Rouen in Modern Literature, at Paris VII in Plastic Arts and then at the School of Fine Arts in Rouen. I was led to do various exhibitions during the ten years when I was exclusively a visual artist, and it is this multidisciplinary practice that led me to documentary film. I have practiced other professions: translator from Portuguese and Spanish of poetic works, critical texts on artists for exhibition catalogs, journalist, photographer. I taught art history and led various artistic workshops.
After writing and directing a few short films, I made my first documentary film in 2005, "Explication des salamanders", which tells the shadows of the family novel and the scars of exile. Autobiographical, this film, at the antipodes of sterile realism, allows the truth of each protagonist (that of my parents and mine) to be expressed singularly.
